Sustainability

Flinders Agriculture Sustainability

Did you know that the top layer of soil that covers our earth is the single most important life sustaining thing on our planet?

All life starts here, life is fed from this and without it – we cease to exist.

So looking after our soil and the things that grow in our soil is critical. This is why we choose to avoid putting things that can be reused back into it via a landfill.

Where Our Calcium Silicate Product Originates

Our Calcium Silicate feedstock is a 100% recovered and recycled industrial by-product that ensures elemental consistency to the end user. Our Calcium Silicate products deliver proven agricultural efficacy by stimulating plant physiology to strengthen cell wall structure, root systems and improving the uptake of nutrients that would otherwise remain unavailable to the plant.

With the addition of locally extracted Dolomite, Lime and elemental Sulphur (which is also a 100% recovered industrial by-product) we have developed a variety of blends and gradings to suit your crop, soil type and local climate. Our Calcium Silicate products are the embodiment of the refined, not mined.

Our Commitment to Rehabilitation

As a responsible owner of mineral resources throughout Queensland and New South Wales, we take our environmental management seriously and ensure we exceed the regulatory requirements of our licenses and associated conditions. Thorough progressive rehabilitation plans have been developed to ensure that the land is returned to a state that will be an asset for future generations.

Partners in Sustainability

We know that it takes machinery and equipment to manufacture and deliver our product and so in an effort to offset this we are proudly part of the Greenfleet program. This means that we donate a % of our profit to Greenfleet and they in turn restore legally protected native forests.

We are proud to reduce our carbon footprint by offsetting our carbon emissions with Greenfleet. Greenfleet is a leading not-for-profit environmental organisation committed to protecting our climate by restoring our forests.  Greenfleet plants native biodiverse forests to capture carbon emissions and help fight the impacts of climate change. Since 1997, Greenfleet has planted over 10 million trees across 500 forests in Australia and New Zealand.

As they grow, Greenfleet forests absorb carbon emissions, improve soil and water quality, and restore habitat for native wildlife, including many endangered species.  Greenfleet is Australia’s first carbon offset provider and has been taking climate action for over 25 years. Through practical climate action, Greenfleet is growing hope for our climate.
